Forevermore
The madness that burned within her
Illuminated her passion,
Singed her heartstrings,
And guided her heart.
The madness that drove her soul
Found comfort in the darkness of the night,
Eradicated her sensibility,
And forced her heart into solitude.
The madness that created the demons within her
Mocked her belief in herself,
Pushed her to her breaking point,
And covered her in bruises and scars.
The madness that cast her life into chaos
Turned her touch, stare, and words into a cold emptiness,
Ruined the purity of her smile,
And voided any ounce of optimism.
The madness that tortured her thoughts
Rendered her meaningless and unworthy,
Banished the joys of simplicity,
And forbid trust from her vocabulary.
The madness that reminded her she was not in control
Fogged her memory with nostalgia,
Weighed her down like thick, heavy chains,
And haunted her mind with the fear of forevermore.
